Quest USA Corporation Settles For $14,000
In May 2022, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Quest USA Corporation (Quest), with its principal location in Brooklyn, New York, in the amount of $14,000 for the company’s violation of CARB’s air quality regulations.
CARB staff conducted an investigation that revealed Quest sold products that failed to meet the volatile organic compound (VOC) limit requirements for a general-purpose cleaner. CARB documented violations as they related to the Consumer Products Regulations (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 17, § 94500 et seq.).
To settle the case, Quest agreed to the penalty of $14,000. Terms of the settlement include a requirement that Quest be more rigorous in their compliance of future products. Quest fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter. The $14,000 will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality.
