PVJ Transportation, Inc. Case Settles for $3,000
In November 2014, PVJ Transportation, Inc. paid $3,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $2,250.00 went to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $750.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that PVJ Transportation, Inc. failed to bring two of their Transport Refrigeration Units (TRU) in compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards; failed to report changes to their TRU fleet within 30 days; and failed to correct an outstanding citation for violating the Statewide Truck and Bus (STB) regulation. ARB documented violations as they related to the TRU Air Toxic Control Measure and STB regulation. To settle the case, PVJ Transportation, Inc. agreed to the $3,000.00 penalty and to comply with the TRU, STB and other ARB programs.
