PSC Custom, LLC, dba Polar Service Centers, Settles For $30,000
In March 2021, PSC Custom, LLC, dba Polar Service Centers, reached a settlement agreement with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for violating CARB’s air quality regulations. PSC Custom, LLC will pay $30,000 in total penalties, with $15,000 allocated to CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, and $15,000 allocated to a Supplemental Environmental Project with Side Street Project – Woodworking Bus.
CARB staff initiated an investigation into PSC Custom, LLC after finding a violation of Health & Saf. Code § 41962; Cal. Code Regs., tit. 17, § 94014. While on routine inspection at the Polar Service Centers’ McClellan Park facility, a single cargo tank purged or vented gasoline vapors directly into the atmosphere.
Terms of the settlement include a requirement for PSC Custom, LLC to comply with all CARB air quality regulations going forward. As a preventative effort, PSC Custom, LLC implemented new electronic procedures for verifying a cargo tank’s last load to eliminate the occurrence of noncompliant purging.
