Prym Consumer USA, Inc. and Odif USA Case Settles for $12,500
On June 1, 2016, a case was settled with Prym Consumer USA, Inc. (Prym) and Odif USA (Odif) for manufacturing, supplying or selling in California the Dritz Quilting Spray‑on Heat Set Adhesive, Dritz Spray Adhesive, and Dritz Quilting Spray Adhesive products that are subject to the Adhesive: Web/Mist Spray categories. Odif manufactured these three products as private labels for Prym. These products contained concentrations of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) exceeding the 55/65 percent by weight VOC limits for their respective categories. The excess VOC emissions based on the sales of these products between May 2013 and February 2015 were approximately 0.37 tons. In addition, these products failed to display the proper VOC categories or VOC category limits as specified in the Title 17, CCR, section 94512(d). Both Prym and Odif admitted to their respective violations and the products manufacturer, Odif, paid $12,500 to settle the case.
