Pruner Enterprises, Inc. Case Settles for $9,000
Pruner Enterprises, Inc. will pay $9,000in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $6,750 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $2,250 will go to the School Bus Retrofit Project to retrofit school buses throughout California with diesel emission control strategies. This settlement was reached in April 2016. April 2016An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Pruner Enterprises, Inc. failed to bring three of their solid waste collection vehicles into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Solid Waste Collection Vehicle Program (SWCVP). To settle the case, Pruner Enterprises, Inc. agreed to the $9,000 penalty and to comply with PSIP, SWCVP, and other ARB programs.
