$4,000 in Fines Paid by Procter & Gamble

On June 13, 2006, Procter & Gamble sent a letter to ARB voluntary disclosing that between 2001 and 2004, fine fragrance products were sold in California that exceeded the 75% VOC limit as specified in the Consumer Products Regulation (Title 17, CCR, § 94509(a)). Procter & Gamble self-reported that the product lines had been purchased from another company and they only became aware of the violation while compiling data for Air Resources Board 2003 Consumer & Commercial Products Survey. They entered into a settlement agreement and closed the case with ARB on December 18, 2007 and paid $4,000 to resolve the self-disclosed violations.
