Pena's Disposal, Inc. Case Settles for $6,700
In January 2008, Pena’s Disposal, Inc. agreed to pay $6,700 in penalties to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, for violating air quality regulations. A fleet audit by the ARB showed that Pena’s Disposal, Inc. failed to properly conduct the smoke test procedures for all applicable diesel vehicles in Pena’s Disposal fleet that were subject to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Solid Waste Collection Vehicle (SWCV) regulation. ARB documented violations as related to the PSIP and SWCV. The settle the case, Pena’s Disposal, Inc. agreed to the penalty $6,700 and to comply with the (PSIP) program.
