Packaging Service Company, Inc. Case Settles for $13,000
On August 16, 2010, Packaging Service Company, Inc. settled alleged violations of the Consumer Products Regulations for $13,000 in lieu of litigation. Packaging Service Company, Inc. did not obtain an Executive Order to certify Frontier Brand Eco Start Natural Lighter Fuel, the Raley’s Fine Living Charcoal Lighter Fluid, and the Raley’s Brand Charcoal Instant Light brand names. Additionally, the Raley’s Brand Charcoal Instant Light product was not marked with a date of manufacture. The Consumer Products Regulation requires all brands of “charcoal lighter material” be listed on certifications and be marked with a date of manufacture. The company had been previously cited for not including other brands on their certifications.
