GSE Activity Survey
Contact
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) oversees the State’s air quality programs, including strategies to reduce emissions from mobile sources, such as aircraft. Currently, CARB is collecting information about activities at airports, including airport ground support equipment (GSE).
We request your assistance in completing the attached survey by May 1, 2025, for GSE that you own or operate. CARB is specifically seeking annual operating hours and fuel usage for each piece of equipment. Please follow the instructions below based on your situation:
- Using your DOORS Equipment Identification Number (EIN). If you are already registered in DOORS and have an EIN for your GSE, use "Tab1" in the spreadsheet to enter activity information (e.g., hours per year) and fuel usage details (e.g., type and volume of fuel) for each piece of reported equipment.
- Manual entry should be used for equipment not already reported to DOORS (e.g., electric vehicles, newly added vehicles to the fleet, or any missing vehicles). Use "Tab2" to provide detailed information by entering the vehicle data, including activity metrics.
This survey is intended to be based on 2023 population, activity and fuel use; however, data from any other year are also welcome. If you have data on your fleet in another format and prefer not to use either of the two options above, such as using your own tracking spreadsheets, please contact us.
For any questions or to submit survey data, please contact Ramin Tohidi, the lead staff on the emissions inventory, by email at Ramin.tohidi@arb.ca.gov .
