As part of developing the potential Ocean‑Going Vessel (OGV) In‑Transit Regulation, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) contracted with the University of California, Irvine (UCI) to assess current and emerging emission control technologies and alternative fuels to reduce air pollution from ships. After reviewing stakeholder feedback from our public workshop held on February 4, 2026, UCI completed the final assessment report. The finalized report incorporates additional analysis, public input, and findings on the feasibility and performance of various OGV emission control technologies and alternative fuels.
