May, 20, 2021 | Board Meeting for the Clean Miles Standard Regulation The California Air Resources Board (CARB) invites you to participate in a virtual Board Meeting for the Clean Miles Standard Regulation on Thursday, May 20, 2021.
January 13, 2021 or January 14, 2021 | Virtual Meeting for California App-based Drivers The California Air Resources Board (CARB) invites you to participate in a virtual meeting for California app-based drivers on Wednesday, January 13 or Thursday, January 14, 2020. The virtual meeting is an opportunity for us to seek input from drivers of app-based passenger services, such as Uber and Lyft, about their driving routines and perceptions of electric vehicles.
November 19, 2020 | Public Workshop for the Clean Miles Standard The California Air Resources Board (CARB) held a public workshop on Thursday, November 19, 2020, to provide input on CARB’s development of the Clean Miles Standard, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from transportation network company (TNC) services. Staff presented updated GHG and electric vehicle miles traveled (eVMT) targets and flexibilities. | Workshop materials & presentations |
July 17, 2020 | Public Workshop for the Clean Miles Standard The California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board) held a public workshop on Friday, July 17, 2020, to invite input on CARB’s development of the Clean Miles Standard, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from transportation network company (TNC) services. Staff presented updated preliminary GHG and electric vehicle miles traveled (eVMT) targets, as well as additional provisions of the regulation, including potential credits and exemptions for small companies.
May 15, 2020 | Public Workshop for the Clean Miles Standard The California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board) held a public workshop on Friday, May 15, 2020, to learn and provide input on CARB’s development of the Clean Miles Standard, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from transportation network company (TNC) services. At this workshop, staff presented and requested stakeholder feedback on regulatory concepts and analysis.
April 01, 2020 | Public Workshop for the Clean Miles Standard CARB held a public workshop to inform about CARB’s plans for developing the Clean Miles Standard, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from transportation network company (TNC) services. At this workshop, staff updated stakeholders on the methodology and assumptions for forecasting business as usual (BAU) emissions for TNCs in California.
September 25, 2019 | Public Workshop for the Clean Miles Standard CARB held a public workshop to inform about plans for developing the Clean Miles Standard, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from transportation network company (TNC) services. At this workshop, staff updated stakeholders on the base year GHG estimation methodology and emissions for TNC operators in California on a per-passenger-mile basis.
July 9, 2019 | Preliminary Regulation Design This invitation-only workgroup was held in Sacramento, CA and focused on preliminary regulation design concepts. | – |
May 15, 2019 | TNC System Efficiency This invitation-only workgroup was held in Sacramento, CA and focused on occupancy, deadheading miles, and fuel economy in TNCs. | – |
May 15, 2019 | Electric Vehicle Miles Traveled This invitation-only workgroup was held in Sacramento, CA and focused on methodologies for calculating and forecasting eVMT data from TNCs, and identifying barriers and strategies to increasing eVMT in TNCs. | – |
May 8, 2019 | Accounting for Double-Counting Workgroup This invitation-only workgroup was held in El Monte, CA and focused on developing solutions for the issue of duplicative miles logged on two or more TNC platforms that are part of the data package submitted to the regulatory agencies. | – |
February 22, 2019 | Public Workshop to Introduce the Development of the Clean Miles Standard CARB held a public workshop to share plans for developing the Clean Miles Standard, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from transportation network company (TNC) services. As directed in Senate Bill 1014 (SB 1014, 2018), emission reductions will be measured on a grams-CO2-per-passenger-mile-traveled (gCO2/PMT) basis. Additional provisions for encouraging zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) miles, active transport modes, and linking to transit will be included in the new regulation. At this workshop, staff provided information on SB 1014; updated stakeholders on the process for developing baseline emissions for the current TNC operators in California; and provided information on the regulatory process. |
