California Integrated Travel Project (Cal-ITP) is a statewide initiative supported by the California State Transportation Agency (CalSTA) and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) through a grant from the California Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program (TIRCP), to enable a modern and consistent transportation experience throughout California and travel simpler and cost-effective for everyone. The project works with mobility providers (transit agencies), private sector, and various state agencies to implement innovations that improve how people learn about, access, and pay for sustainable transportation.

Cal-ITP is administered by the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority and helps CARB develop recommendations for light-duty vehicle incentive programs

  • Payment Issuance Strategy and Demonstrations to enable a modern & consistent transportation experience throughout California
  • Improve how low-income residents can access & use benefits​
  • Use bank cards or bank accounts to distribute incentives​
  • Coordinate across State agencies and with private sector on incentive-related issues
