Ombudsman: Financial Incentives
There are a number of services and programs available to businesses operating in California - from energy efficiency and general workforce development grants to industry-specific financial incentives. It's important to know where you can get financial assistance to help pay for reducing your greenhouse gas emissions, purchasing a zero emission vehicle, bringing a new clean technology to market, or expanding your existing operations. Your local utility is a good place to start, as they may have rebates on solar installations, energy efficient equipment, lighting, refrigeration, vehicles, heating and air conditioning, etc. They may offer energy efficiency design support or on-bill financing, too. The California Capital Access Program (CalCAP) encourages banks to make loans to small businesses and the CoolCalifornia Funding Wizard provides funding information for sustainability projects.
