Oak Design Corporation Settles For $3,000
In April 2024, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Oak Design Corporation (ODC), located in Chino, California, for the company’s violation of the Airborne Toxic Control Measure to Reduce Formaldehyde Emissions from Composite Wood Products (Composite Wood Regulation), as codified in California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 93120 et seq.
During a routine inspection, CARB discovered and photographed ODC violated the Composite Wood Regulation requirement by not labeling its composite wood products with a production date. To come into compliance, ODC now labels its composite wood products with a production date.
The total civil penalty amount of $3,000 will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund for the purpose of carrying out CARB’s duties and functions to ensure the integrity of its air pollution control programs.
