SACRAMENTO – The California Environmental Protection Agency's Air Resources Board (ARB) will hold a series of public meetings to discuss the Bay Area Ozone Plan, California Phase 3 Reformulated Gasoline, proposed Asbestos Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) and emission standards for stern drive marine vessels:

The meetings will include:
- A semiannual status report on the implementation of California Phase 3 Reformulated Gasoline by ARB staff.
- Changes to marine engine requirements that propose standards for 2003 and later model year engines.
- Proposed revisions to the Bay Area Ozone Plan include an updated inventory, attainment assessment and new control measures.
- Proposed Asbestos ATCM that includes measures for construction and grading, road construction and maintenance activities and quarries to minimize emissions of asbestos-laden dust.
CARB's mission is to promote and protect public health, welfare, and ecological resources through effective reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering effects on the economy. The CARB oversees all air pollution control efforts in California to attain and maintain health based air quality standards.
