SACRAMENTO – The California Air Resources Board (ARB) will hold its regular Board meeting to consider the California Clean Air Act review of the South Coast Plan and Nonvehicular Source Regulation Thursday, January 29, 1998, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the following location:
2020 L Street
Lower Level Hearing Room
Sacramento, CA 95814
The ARB will consider the South Coast Air Quality Management District's (SCAQMD) triennial update to their Air Quality Management Plan as required by the California Clean Air Act (CCAA). The SCAQMD's plan is an essential part of the State Implementation Plan for PM10, ozone, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide. Additionally, the Board will consider amendments to the Nonvehicular Source Fee Regulations, which expired on July 1, 1997, and will help relieve the costs to state and local agencies implementing the CCAA.
The Board will also consider the evaluation criteria for the Rice Straw Demonstration Project. The project allows up to 50 percent funding for technologies that can significantly increase the use of rice straw for commercial use. Further, several research proposals will be presented to the Board for consideration.
DIRECTIONS: ARB headquarters is in downtown Sacramento, six blocks east of the State Capitol. From I-80 east or west, take the 15th or 16th Street exits. Head east on X Street to 21st Street.
