SACRAMENTO–The California Air Resources Board (ARB) will hold its regular Board meeting Thursday, January 23, 1997 starting at 9:30 a.m. at ARB headquarters located at:

Topics Include:
- The Board's consideration of the South Coast Air Quality Management District's 1997 Air Quality Management Plan
- A presentation on the economics program that assesses the impact of regulatory actions on California business and individuals
- Executive Officer Michael Kenny will give a status report on the proposed U.S. EPA changes to the national ozone and particulate matter standards
- Several research proposals
DIRECTIONS: ARB headquarters is in downtown Sacramento, six blocks east of the State Capitol. From I-80 east or west, take the 15th or 16th Street exits. Head east on X Street to 21st Street. Turn left (north) and proceed to L Street. Turn left again; the ARB building occupies the entire block between 20th and 21st Streets (Thomas Bros. Guide - pg. 297, E-5).
CARB's mission is to promote and protect public health, welfare, and ecological resources through effective reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering effects on the economy. The CARB oversees all air pollution control efforts in California to attain and maintain health based air quality standards.
