SACRAMENTO - In observance of National Pollution Prevention Week, the California Air Resources Board (ARB) members have signed a resolution supporting clean-air activities by businesses, industry, environmental groups and individuals throughout the state.
ARB Chairman John Dunlap said, "Pollution Prevention Week is an opportunity for Californians to celebrate their natural resources and determine what can be done collectively and individually to protect those resources. We have many successes to celebrate, however, there is still much work to be done to improve California air quality."
The ARB's week-long celebration, September 21-27, will focus on a variety of air quality improvement efforts, including ridesharing, bicycling, school group presentations and cooperative clean-air efforts between industry and government.
The ARB will also take the opportunity to highlight recent clean-air successes and promote voluntary pollution-reduction efforts by businesses and individuals in the state.
