Nature's Produce Case Settles for $50,000
Nature’s Produce will pay $50,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulation: $37,500.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $12,500.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology program. This settlement was reached in July, 2015.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Nature’s Produce failed to bring 14 of their heavy-duty engines into compliance with the particulate matter Best Available Control Technology requirements. ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus (T&B) Regulation. To settle the case, Nature’s Produce agreed to the $50,000.00 penalty and to comply with T&B and other ARB programs.
