Nationwide Trans, Inc. Case Settles for $396,000
Nationwide Trans, Inc. will pay $396,000 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $303,750 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $92,250 will go to the School Bus Retrofit Project to retrofit school buses throughout California with diesel emission control strategies. This settlement was reached in July 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Nationwide Trans, Inc. failed to bring fifty three of their heavy-duty diesel trucks into compliance with the diesel particulate matter best available control technology. ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus Regulation. To settle the case, Nationwide Trans, Inc. agreed to the $396,000 penalty and to comply with the Truck and Bus Regulation and other applicable ARB regulations.
