MVP Trucking Inc. Case Settles for $18,000.00
In November 2013, MVP Trucking Inc. agreed to pay $18,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $13,500.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $4,500.00 will go to Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that MVP Trucking Inc. failed to have all 1996 through 1999 model year engines meet PM BACT requirements by January 1, 2012 and to have all 2000 through 2004 model year engines meet PM BACT requirements by January 1, 2013, a violation of the Truck and Bus Regulation. To settle the case, MVP Trucking Inc. agreed to the $18,000.00 penalty and to comply with the Truck and Bus Regulation and other ARB programs.
