Murray Settles for SORE Violations - $2,115

Murray is a manufacturer of lawn mowers and other turf equipment. The company settled for $2,115 for delivering 40 lawn mowers equipped with non-California certified Briggs and Stratton engines to Wal-Mart stores in Lancaster and Corona. The Briggs engines were clearly labeled with red letters: "Not For Sale In California." The non-compliant units were subsequently sold to consumers in California. Murray and Wal-Mart were not able to recall the non-compliant units.
