Miwall Corporation Case Settles for $6,500
In November 2104, Miwall Corporation (Miwall) agreed to pay $6,500.00 for violating air quality regulations: $3,750.00 goes to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides fudning fo projects and research to improve California’s air quality; $1,250.00 goes to Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Educaiton and Tecnology program; and the return of Moyer funds of $1,500.00 goes to the Sacrmaento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District for non-compliance with the Air Resources Board (ARB) regulations as required by the Carl Moyer contract.
An investigation by ARB showed that Miwall failed to comply with the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). ARB documented violations as they relate to PSIP. To settle the case, Miwall agreed to the $5,000.00 penalty, the $1,500.00 return of Moyer funds, and to comply with the PSIP and other ARB programs. Miwall does not have a history of past violations.
