Market Transport, Ltd. Settlement
Market Transport, Ltd. Case Settles for $2,600
Market Transport, Ltd. agreed to pay $2,600.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $1,950.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $650.00 to the Peralta Community College District for distribution to participating California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) colleges. This settlement was reached in January 2012.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Market Transport failed to comply with the Drayage Truck Regulation by dispatching drayage trucks that are either not compliant with the emission standards set forth in the regulation or not registered with Drayage Truck Registry. To settle the case, Market Transport agreed to the $2,600.00 penalty and to comply with the Drayage Truck Regulation.
