A.M. Ortega Case Settles for $36,375.00
A.M. Ortega agreed to pay $36,375.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $27,279.25 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $9,093.75 will go to Peralta Community Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that A.M. Ortega was not in compliance with the Truck and Bus Regulation for 2012 and 2013. To settle the case, A.M. Ortega agreed to a compliance plan to ensure full compliance with the Truck and Bus Regulation by January 1,2014 and pay the penalty of $36,375.00 penalty.
