In November 2021, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Kautz Vineyards, Inc., with its principal location in Murphys, California, reached a settlement agreement in the amount of $6,000 for failure to comply with CARB’s Regulation for the Management of High Global Warming Potential Refrigerants for Stationary Sources (RMP Regulation). The total penalty amount will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality.

Kautz Vineyards, Inc. came into compliance quickly, put into place policies and procedures to prevent similar issues in the future, and fully cooperated with the investigation.
