CARB has verified the Johnson Matthey Exhaust Gas Recirculation Technology (EGRTTM) for some Cummins, Detroit Diesel, and International engines used in on-road applications. The EGRTTM uses an exhaust gas recirculation system and a diesel particulate filter to achieve an 85 percent reduction in particulate matter emissions and 40 percent reduction in oxides of nitrogen. Specific conditions for which the EGRTTM have been approved may be found in the Executive Order and Attachment which are posted below.
