Jag Trucking, Inc. Case Settles for $7,500.00
In July 2013, Jag Trucking, Inc. paid $7,500.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $5,625.00 went to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $1,875.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Jag Trucking, Inc. failed to bring some of their fleet into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they relate to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, Jag Trucking, Inc. agreed to the $7,500.00 penalty and to comply with the PSIP and other ARB programs.
