J.P. Witherow Roofing Company Case Settles for $8,000.00
In November 2013, J.P. Witherow Roofing Company agreed to pay $8,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $6,000.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $2,000.00 will go to Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that J.P. Witherow Roofing Company failed to meet the requirements of the engine model year compliance schedule for two vehicles in the fleet. ARB documented violations as they related to the Statewide Truck and Bus regulation. To settle the case, J.P. Witherow Roofing Company agreed to the $8,000.00 penalty and to comply with the Statewide Truck and Bus regulation and other ARB programs.
