Inland Lease & Rental Inc. Case Settles for $65,250
Inland Lease and Rental, Inc. will pay $65,250.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $48,938.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $16,312.00 will go to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District to fund the School Bus and Diesel Emission Reduction SEP. This settlement was reached in June, 2015.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Inland Lease and Rental, Inc. failed to bring 5 of their heavy-duty diesel tractors into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Statewide Truck and Bus Regulation (STB). To settle the case, Inland Lease and Rental, Inc. agreed to the $65,520.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, STB, and other ARB programs.
