Indian Motorcycle Company Case Settlement - $750,000
On January 7, 2003, the Air Resources Board (ARB) finalized a settlement with Indian Motorcycle Company. The Indian Motorcycle Company was found in violation of Health and Safety Code (H&SC) section 43151 et. seq., which prohibits the delivery for sale in California of any new motor vehicle unless the vehicle has been certified to meet California emission standards. Under the terms of this settlement, Indian Motorcycle Company will pay $50,000 to the Air Pollution Control Fund with the remaining $700,000 stayed provided that the Indian Motorcycle Company does not violate H&SC section 43151 et. seq. in the future.
