Imperial Valley Foods, INC. Settles for $6,500.00
In August 2019, a case was settled for $6,500.00 with Imperial Valley Foods, Inc. (IVF), of Calexico, California. The penalty will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality.
An investigation by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) found that IVF failed to verify that each hired or dispatched vehicle was in compliance with the Truck and Bus Regulation, as codified in the California Code of Regulations, title 13, section 2025 (13 CCR § 2025) and failed to bring three of their Transport Refrigeration Units (TRU’s) into compliance with the TRU Airborne Toxic Control Measure (13 CCR § 2477) performance requirements. To settle the case, IVF agreed to the $6,500.00 penalty and to comply with the Truck and Bus Regulation, TRU Airborne Toxic Control Measure and other CARB programs.
