Hills Valley Transportation Case Settles for $11,100.00
On June 5, 2012, Hills Valley Transportation, (HVT) Incorporated agreed to pay $11,100.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $8,325.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $2,775.00 to the Peralta Community College District for distribution to participating California Community Colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that HVT complied with the TRU regulation but failed to comply with the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Emission Control Label (ECL) regulations. To settle the case, HVT agreed to the $11,100.00 penalty and to comply with the PSIP, ECL regulations.
