Heartland Meat Company, Inc. Case Settles for $2,250
In December 28, 2010, Heartland Meat Company, Inc. agreed to pay $2,250 penalties; $1,687 to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $562.50 to the Peralta Community College District, for violating air quality regulations enforced by the Air Resources Board (ARB). The Heartland Meat Company failed to demonstrate compliance with Air Born Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) for In-Use Diesel Fueled Transport Refrigeration Units (TRUs) and TRU Generator Sets, as codified in Title 13, California Code of Regulations (CCR) Section 2477. The case emphasizes the importance of timely, effective TRU compliance in order to deliver the clean air benefit to the public.
