Harmun Trucking Inc. Case Settles for $2,175
Harmun Trucking Inc. has agreed to pay $2,175.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $1,631 will be paid to the Air Pollution Control Fund and $544 will be paid to the Peralta College foundation for distribution to participating California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) colleges. This settlement was reached in April 2015.
A routine investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Harmun Trucking Inc., failed to test and maintain records of smoke emissions from its fleet of heavy-duty diesel vehicles for years 2012 and 2013 in violation of the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). In addition, Harmun Trucking Inc. failed to include the Disclosure of Regulation Applicability on the bill of sales, contract addendums, or invoices, in violation of 13 CCR § 2025(w). To settle the case, Harmun Trucking Inc. has agreed to the $2,175.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, Statewide Truck and Bus regulation, and other ARB applicable regulations.
