Hanjin Boston Case Settles for $7,500
The owners of “Hanjin Boston” c/o NSB Niederelbe Schiffahrtsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG paid $7,500.00 in penalties to the California Air Resources Board, for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached on August 25, 2014. An investigation by the ARB showed that the vessel Hanjin Boston, failed to operate on compliant distillate fuel upon entry into Regulated California Waters in June of 2014. The Owners of the “Hanjin Boston” took prompt action after being notified of these violations and under ARB’s supervision began operating in a compliant fashion. To settle the case, The owners of the “Hanjin Boston” c/o NSB Niederelbe Schiffahrtsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG agreed to the $7,500.00 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
