Granite Rock Company Case Settles for $8,000
Granite Rock Company will pay $8,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $8,000.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. This settlement was reached in July 2017.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Granite Rock Company failed to properly self-inspect its diesel trucks, as required by the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP), and failed to report all required information for a portion of vehicles in the fleet, as required by the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. ARB documented violations as they related to PSIP and TB Regulation. To settle the case, Granite Rock Company agreed to the $8,000.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TB Regulation and other ARB programs.
