Golden Seven Trucking, Inc. Case Settles for $11,186
Golden Seven Trucking, Inc. will pay $11,186.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $8,390.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $2,796.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in June 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Golden Seven Trucking, Inc. failed to bring two of their on-road heavier vehicles into compliance with the particulate matter Best Available Control Technology requirements and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Truck and Bus (TB) regulation. To settle the case, Golden Seven Trucking, Inc. agreed to the $11,186.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TB, and other ARB programs.
