GC Harvesting, Inc. Case Settles for $120,000.00
In November 2013, GC Harvesting, Inc. agreed to pay $120,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $90,000.00 to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $30,000.00 for the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by CARB showed that GC Harvesting, Inc. failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. CARB documented violations as they related to the Statewide Truck and Bus regulations. (STB). To settle the case, GC Harvesting, Inc. agreed to the $120,000.00 penalty and to comply with all applicable CARB regulations.
