GA Logistics, In. Case Settles for $2,850
GA Logistics, Inc. paid $2,850.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $2,138.00 Went to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $712.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in October 2015.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that GA Logistics, Inc. failed to: (1) bring one of their diesel fueled Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards; (2) affix ARB issued identification numbers to both sides of TRUs it owns; (3) submit correct information to ARB for a TRU it owns; and, (4) properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the TRU Regulation. To settle the case, GA Logistics, Inc. agreed to the $2,850.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TRU, and other ARB programs.
