G & P Trucking, Inc. Settles For $2,035
In May 2021, G & P Trucking, Inc., located in Santa Maria, California, settled their violations for Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) violations with the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
G & P Trucking, Inc. was found to be in violation of the PSIP during an audit conducted as part of an Area Focused Investigation effort in the Santa Maria region. The company was unaware of PSIP requirements and had not completed the required smoke opacity testing on their heavy-duty diesel trucks. The company was found to be in violation for five trucks that were not tested in 2019.
Due to the cooperation of the fleet during the audit and the compliance of their diesel vehicles with the Truck and Bus Regulation, and their transport refrigeration units (TRU) with the TRU ACTM, the total penalties for the five violations of the PSIP was reduced to $2,035. As a condition of the settlement, the company is being required to submit their PSIP tests for all applicable vehicles in 2021 and 2022.
The company is in full compliance with all applicable CARB regulations at this time.
