Submitted Comment Name Mark Craig Affiliation N/A Subject B054005 Message Diamond Green claims they are buying Asia-sourced used cooking oil (UCO) for their plant, and ships are delivering millions of gallons of this Asian UCO to their plant. It is well-known that the material they are buying (primarily from China) is palm oil "splashed" with a limited volume of UCO. Where is the documentation that this material is truly UCO? In the US, suppliers have to document where the UCO is collected (specific restaurant addresses) and how much from each stop. Suppliers also have to show how the UCO is processed and support it all with receipts and documentation, which gets audited annually. This Asian UCO side-steps these requirements and is subsequently cheaper for Diamond Green to purchase than US-sourced UCO, which drives down the price domestically. How does the EPA let this happen?
