Folsom Lake Chrysler Case Settles for $2,500
In July 2011, the ARB reached a settlement with California Superstores (Folsom Chrysler) that included a $2,500 penalty to the California Air Pollution Fund for marketing and offering for sale of modified engines in California without receiving an ARB Executive Order. An investigation by the ARB showed that between August 30, 2010 and April 14, 2011, Folsom Lake Chrysler marketed and offered for sale a new MY2010 Dodge Challenger (under 7,500 odometer miles) for use or registration in California. The modifications to the new MY2010 vehicle render it uncertified and illegal for sale in California and are in violation of Health and Safety Code sections 43151 through 43153. The case settled in July 2011, for Two Thousand Five Dollars ($2,500).
