$50,000 in Fines Paid by Flying J

An investigation was instigated by a consumer complaint regarding the Flying J truck plaza in Lodi, California. The investigation revealed that on March 16, 2005 and March 20, 2005, deliveries of straight denatured ethanol were made instead of regular grade gasoline, resulting in sales to the public of highly over-oxygenated gasoline. The case was settled on March 19, 2007 for $50,000.
