ExxonMobil Oil Corporation Case Settles for $120,000.00
In its greenhouse gas emissions data report for the year 2011, ExxonMobil relied on the wrong data to create its first-time report as a fuel supplier, resulting in a report that remained inaccurate for over 120 days, in violation of the Regulation for the Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions, California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 95100 et seq. The report received an adverse verification statement. ExxonMobil cooperated with ARB, allowing the calculations to be corrected. To resolve the matter, ExxonMobil agreed to update its Greenhouse Gas Monitoring Plan, and to pay a penalty of $120,000.
