CARB SNAPS hosts kickoff meetings for air quality monitoring in communities near the Inglewood Oil Field
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Office and Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) seek to better characterize air quality in communities near oil and gas extraction operations. This program, called the Study of Neighborhood Air near Petroleum Sources (SNAPS), includes approximately one year of intensive air quality monitoring in each selected community.
Baldwin Hills and other communities near the Inglewood Oil Field in Los Angeles County have been selected for SNAPS air monitoring. Please join us for a kickoff meeting to learn more about SNAPS and to ask any questions regarding the Inglewood Oil Field Communities Air Monitoring Plan. Public discussion and recommendations have been critical to this study. We highly encourage and welcome your active participation at these meetings.
Meeting Location:
Culver City Senior Center, Dining Room
4095 Overland Ave, Culver City, CA 90232
Materials for this event, including copies of the presentation and a flyer will be available prior to the meetings on the SNAPS webpage. Topics of discussion will include a program overview, stationary and mobile monitoring details and locations, specifics on how data are communicated, next steps, and ways for community members to get involved.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact the SNAPS program or call Jonathan Blufer at (279) 208-7687.
