ESW Technologies Case Settles for $60,000
ESW Technologies will pay $60,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $45,000.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $15,000.00 went to the School Bus Retrofit Project to retrofit school buses throughout California with diesel emission control strategies. This settlement was reached in June 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that ESW Technologies violated the Verification Procedure, Warranty and In-Use Compliance Requirements for In-Use Strategies to Control Emissions from Diesel Engines (Verification Procedure) as codified in California Code of Regulations, title 13, sections 2700 - 2711. ARB documented violations as they related to the Verification Procedure. To settle the case, ESW Technologies agreed to the $60,000.00 penalty and to comply with Verification Procedure and other ARB programs.
