Funding for Communities, Local & Tribal Government
Contacto
There are many upcoming opportunities to improve access to clean transportation and fund mobility projects in your community. Clean transportation choices can range from bike share to electric car share services, and offer affordable, clean transportation solutions for low-income residents within disadvantaged, low-income and tribal communities. Clean transportation options also deliver health, environmental, and economic benefits. The Projects in Action page provides examples of clean transportation solutions operating in communities throughout California.
Funding for Community Mobility Projects
Clean Mobility Options Voucher Pilot Program (CMO)
The Clean Mobility Options Voucher Pilot Program (CMO) is a voucher-based funding opportunity for communities to conduct transportation needs assessments and to implement mobility projects (i.e. zero-emission carsharing, bikesharing, and innovative transit services) in disadvantaged, low-income, and tribal communities.
Sustainable Transportation Equity Project (STEP)
The Sustainable Transportation Equity Project (STEP) takes a community-based approach to overcoming barriers to clean transportation and mobility by funding a variety of clean transportation and supporting projects, such as public transit and shared mobility services, active transportation infrastructure, land use planning and housing policy, workforce development, and clean transportation planning and education.
Clean Mobility in Schools Pilot Project
The Clean Mobility in Schools Pilot Projects, which are located within disadvantaged communities, intend to encourage and accelerate the deployment of new zero-emission school buses, school fleet vehicles, passenger cars, lawn and garden equipment, and can incorporate alternative modes of transportation like transit vouchers, active transportation elements, and bicycle share programs.
Vehicle Incentives
Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP)
Buy clean vehicles for your business or fleet- with no scrappage and first come, first served in most cases. Base vehicle price breaks from $20,000 to $240,000, depending on the vehicle you purchase. Clean Truck & Bus Vouchers (HVIP) are available to California fleets.
Planning and Capacity Building
Planning and Capacity Building funds a variety of community-led planning and capacity building projects that increase transportation equity and achieve a community’s vision, such as projects focused on clean mobility transportation planning, community transportation needs assessments, community capacity building, outreach, workforce training and development, ongoing technical assistance, and other critical community-led clean mobility investment needs.
