Lemore Transportation, Inc. dba Royal Trucking Case Settles for $4,050
In December 2014, Royal Trucking paid $4,050.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $3,038.00 was paid to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; and $1,012.00 was paid to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Royal Trucking failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards as required by the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and failed to properly dispatch trucks that were compliant with the emissions standards set forth in the Drayage Truck Regulation or registered in the Drayage Truck Registry (DTR). ARB documented violations as they related to PSIP and the Drayage Truck Regulation. To settle the case, Royal Trucking agreed to the $4,050.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, the Drayage Truck Regulation and other ARB programs.
