In response to Assembly Bill (AB) 617 (C. Garcia, Chapter 136, Statutes of 2017), CARB established the Community Air Protection Program (CAPP or Program). The Program’s focus is to reduce exposure in communities most impacted by air pollution. Communities around the State are working together to develop and implement new strategies to measure air pollution and reduce health impacts.

Apply by November 1, 2024, for a Community Air Grant - Almost $16M Available for Funding

Community air grants support California community-based organizations and California Native American Tribes to participate in community air protection. Applications under the Cycle 5 Community Air Grants Program Request for Applications must be received by 11:59 p.m., on Friday, November 1, 2024. Please see the Community Air Grants page for more details on eligible entities.

Community Air Protection Program Blueprint 2.0

Apply by November 15, 2024, to Serve on the AB 617 Consultation Group

CARB is seeking applicants to serve on the Community Air Protection (Assembly Bill (AB) 617) Consultation Group (Consultation Group). The purpose of the Consultation Group is to advise CARB on the development and implementation of the statewide strategy Blueprint 2.0, for the Community Air Protection Program (Program). 

Applications must be submitted through the application link no later than 11:59 p.m., Pacific Standard Time (PST), Friday, November 15, 2024. For questions regarding the Consultation Group or the how to apply to the Consultation Group, please email: AB617CG@arb.ca.gov.
